# Working with more than one organisation

> Run several companies from one login: create another organisation, switch between them, and understand what is kept separate.

One person can belong to several organisations, for example if you run two companies, or if another business has invited you to its team. Each organisation is completely separate: its own quotes, clients, contacts, library, settings, team and plan.

## Create another organisation

1. Open the account menu (the circle with your initials).
2. Choose **+ New organisation**.
3. Enter the **Company name** and choose a **Base currency** (it defaults to the same as your current organisation).
4. Click **Create organisation**.

You become the owner of the new organisation and it starts on its own free trial. See [How the free trial works](https://quoterium.com/help/billing-and-plans/free-trial).

## Switch between organisations

When you belong to more than one organisation, the account menu shows a drop-down under **Organisation**. Choose another organisation to switch; the app reloads in that organisation. Where you are not the owner, your role is shown next to the name.

The organisation you are working in is always shown in the account menu and at the foot of every page, so you can check before creating a quote.

## Good to know

- Your profile (name, email signature, saved signature, password) is shared across all your organisations.
- Your role can differ between organisations: you might be the owner of one and a sales member of another. See [Roles and permissions](https://quoterium.com/help/team-and-settings/roles-and-permissions).
- Plans and billing are per organisation. See [Plans and pricing](https://quoterium.com/help/billing-and-plans/plans-and-pricing).
