# The library: reusable price and text items

> The library stores the products, services and standard wording you quote again and again, so you can add them to any quote in a few keystrokes.

The [**Library**](https://app.quoterium.com/library) is where you keep everything you quote regularly. It has four parts, switched with the tabs at the top of the page, each showing how many it holds:

- **Price items**: products and services with a price, tax rate and options, such as "Design day" or "Annual hosting".
- **Text items**: wording without a price, such as an introduction, a section heading, what's included or your assumptions.
- **Quote templates**: whole quotes to start from. See [Quote templates](https://quoterium.com/help/library-and-templates/templates).
- **Files**: images, PDFs and documents, such as a brochure, to attach to quotes. See [The file library](https://quoterium.com/help/writing-quotes/file-library).

## Prices are in your base currency

Library prices are always stored in your organisation's base currency. When a quote is in another currency, prices are converted at that day's rate as they're added. See [Multi-currency quotes](https://quoterium.com/help/currencies-and-rates/multi-currency-quotes).

## Finding items

- **Search** looks in codes, headings and descriptions.
- **Category** filters price items by sales category.
- **Show archived** lists items you have archived.

Each row shows the code, heading, a preview of the description and, for price items, the unit price, tax and category. Items used by templates show **Used in N templates**, and text items whose heading stays off quotes show **Heading hidden on quotes**; options such as optional, multiple choice, editable quantity or a subscription are listed under the heading. On wide screens the **Updated** column shows when each item was last changed and by whom; the item's edit form shows it too.

## Who can manage the library

Everyone in your organisation can add, edit, import and export library items. Tax rates and sales categories, which items refer to, are managed by admins under [**Settings → Tax & categories**](https://app.quoterium.com/settings/tax).
