# Quote statuses and progress

> What each quote status means for you and your customer, and how to use the private progress flags: Active, On hold, Complete and Dismissed.

Every quote has a **status**, which says where it is with the customer, and a **progress** flag, which is a private marker for your team.

## Statuses

| Status | What it means | What the customer sees |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Draft | Not sent yet. You can edit everything. | A message that the quote is being updated. It can be viewed once you send it. |
| Sent | Live with the customer and locked for editing. | The quote, with Accept and Decline. |
| Editing | Taken offline so you can change it. | A message that the quote is being updated. |
| Accepted | The customer accepted, or you recorded their acceptance. | The accepted quote with the signature details. |
| Declined | The customer declined, or you marked it declined. | The quote, marked as declined, without Accept. |
| Expired | The **Valid until** date has passed. | The quote, marked as expired, without Accept. |
| Withdrawn | You withdrew it. | A message that the quote has been withdrawn. |

Admins can stop customers viewing expired or declined quotes in **Settings → Branding & layout**. See [What your customer sees](https://quoterium.com/help/customer-view-and-e-signature/customer-quote-page).

## Progress flags

Progress helps your team keep the list tidy. Customers never see it. Set it from the quote's **Actions** menu, or for several quotes at once with **Bulk edit** on the Quotes page.

- **Active**: the default.
- **On hold**: parked for now. Use **Put on hold**, and **Mark as active** to bring it back.
- **Complete**: for accepted quotes once the work is done or handed over.
- **Dismissed**: for declined, expired or withdrawn quotes you no longer need to think about.

Any flag other than Active is shown as a second badge next to the status. The Quotes page shows **Active** quotes by default; choose **On hold** or **All** under **Progress** to see the rest.

To hide a quote from the lists altogether, archive it. See [Archive, delete and duplicate quotes](https://quoterium.com/help/sending-and-follow-up/archive-delete-and-duplicate).
