# Roles and permissions

> Every team member is the owner, an admin or a member. Here is what each role can do in Quoterium.

Each person in your organisation has one of three roles. You can see everyone's role under [**Settings → Team**](https://app.quoterium.com/settings/team), and your own in the account menu (the circle with your initials, top right).

## Member

Members do the day-to-day quoting. They can:

- create, edit, send and follow up quotes, and work with every quote in the organisation, not only their own;
- add and edit clients and contacts, and link them to Xero contacts;
- manage the library and quote templates;
- edit their own profile, email signature, saved signature and password under **Settings → Your profile**.

## Admin

Admins can do everything a member can, and also:

- change organisation settings: Organisation, Branding & layout, Quote defaults, Currencies & rates, Tax & categories, Emails & sending and Integrations;
- invite and remove people and change their roles under **Team**;
- raise Xero invoices from accepted quotes;
- generate, replace and revoke the organisation's API token (see [Use the Quoterium API](https://quoterium.com/help/api/use-the-api));
- change the owner of a quote (the **Owner** field in the quote's **Settings** tab);
- view **Plan & billing**;
- contact Quoterium support and follow the organisation's support requests (account menu → **Support**).

## Owner

The person who created the organisation is its owner. The owner has every admin permission and is the only person who can choose or change the plan, manage the card and invoices, set the billing email, and cancel or resume the subscription. The owner can't be removed from the organisation, and the owner's role can't be changed on the Team page. If ownership needs to move to someone else, [contact support](https://quoterium.com/support).

## Changing someone's role

1. Go to [**Settings → Team**](https://app.quoterium.com/settings/team) (admins only).
2. In the **Role** column, choose **Admin** or **Member** for the person.

The change takes effect straight away. You can't change your own role.
