Quoterium

Change a quote's currency

Convert every price on a quote to another currency, set the rate yourself or from a round-figure price, choose rounding, and refresh the rate later.

You can change a quote's currency while it is a draft or being edited. Every price is converted from its base-currency price, so you can switch back and forth without drift.

Change the currency

  1. Click the currency in the column on the right of the Quote tab, click Change on the Settings tab, or choose Change currency in the Actions menu.
  2. Choose the Quote currency. Today's rate is filled in, including any margin or fixed rate your admin has set.
  3. Optionally adjust the rate (see below) and choose how to Price rounding.
  4. Check the Preview, which converts a few of your items.
  5. Click Convert prices.

Choosing your base currency converts everything back at a rate of 1.

Setting the rate yourself

There are two ways, chosen at the top of the rate section:

  • Exchange rate: type the rate directly, as in "1 GBP = 1.2 USD". The live rate is shown for comparison, with Use today's rate to go back.
  • From a price: enter a price in your base currency and the round figure it should become, for example £1,000 → $1,300. Quoterium works out the rate and re-prices every item at it.

A shortcut: hover over a price item's base price and click Set rate from this to open the dialog anchored on that item.

A rate that differs from today's is saved as a manual rate and labelled as such on the quote.

Refreshing the rate

The rate is stored on the quote and does not change by itself. To re-price at today's rate, click Refresh rate on the Settings tab. For a manual rate the button says Reset to today's rate; the same link appears under the rate in the right-hand column.

Good to know

  • Percentage-priced items are not converted directly; they recalculate from the converted items.
  • Costs are converted too, and a fixed overall discount is converted at the new rate.
  • Once a quote is live, take it offline to change its currency.
  • Each change is recorded in the quote's History with the rate and its date.
