Quoterium

Knowing when a quote has been opened

See whether a quote is unopened, when it was last viewed and whether the customer has it open right now; how views are counted; the emails you get when a quote is opened.

Because each recipient opens the quote through their own link, Quoterium knows when they look at it.

Where to look

  • In the quote: the line above the title shows when it was sent and either Viewed with how long ago, or Unopened.
  • In every quotes list (the Quotes page, the dashboard and a client's page): the Viewed column shows Viewing now while someone has the quote open, Viewed or Viewed 3 times (and so on) with how long ago, or Not opened. On the Quotes page, tick Live now to list only the quotes someone has open at the moment. On narrow screens the column is hidden.
  • On the dashboard: a quote the customer opened again after a quiet spell appears under Worth a follow-up. See Follow-ups.
  • In the History at the bottom of the quote: each visit is recorded as "Viewed by" followed by the recipient's name.

How views are counted

  • A visit counts when the customer page is opened.
  • Repeat visits by the same recipient within 30 minutes count as one.
  • Views are tracked while a quote is Sent, and after it is accepted, declined or expired. While a quote is a draft or being edited, customers cannot open it.
  • Your team's own visits are not counted, whether through Customer view or by opening a customer link in a browser where you are signed in to Quoterium.

Things to bear in mind

  • If a customer forwards their email, the person they forwarded it to is recorded as the original recipient.
  • The quote's owner is emailed the first time a customer opens a sent quote, and again when a customer comes back to it after a quiet spell of at least your organisation's follow-up days (3 unless you set another number under Quote defaults). Switch these emails off under Settings → Your profile → Email me when a customer opens a quote. Questions, acceptances and declines are always emailed to the owner.
