Text items, item descriptions, terms, notes and quote emails all use the same rich text editor. Payment terms and private notes are plain text.
The toolbar
- Bold, Italic, Underline and Strikethrough.
- A paragraph style menu: Text, Heading 1, Heading 2, Heading 3.
- Bulleted list, Numbered list, Quote and Code block.
- Alignment: left, centre, right and justify.
- Link (Ctrl+K), Insert table and Horizontal rule. While you are in a table, extra buttons add or delete rows and columns, or delete the table.
- Insert image, Attach file, Undo and Redo.
Select some text to get a small floating bar with bold, italic, underline and link. Common shortcuts work, such as Ctrl+B for bold and Ctrl+Z to undo (Cmd on a Mac).
Images in text
Click Insert image, or drag or paste an image file into the text. Pictures and files are always uploaded to your account: pictures or file links copied from other websites aren't kept (save the picture and upload it instead). Click an image to show its options:
- S, M, Full and Auto set its width; you can also drag the corner handle.
- Alt adds a short description for people using screen readers. Leave it empty for purely decorative images.
- Remove deletes it.
Files in text
Attach file adds a document, such as a PDF brochure, as a card showing its name and size, which customers can download. The editor accepts images (JPG, PNG, GIF, WebP), PDFs, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and OpenDocument files, and also text, CSV, RTF and ZIP files, up to 20 MB each. Other kinds of file, such as programs and web pages, are not accepted.
Files and pictures for an item
Put them in the item's description with Insert image and Attach file in the text toolbar, as described above. A picture or file that an item already had from before is still shown with it; use the ✕ to remove it.
Files for the whole quote
In the Attachments section near the bottom of the editor, click Add file and pick a file from your library, or upload a new one; uploads are added to the library so you can reuse them, unless you untick Save to the file library. Files attached here are shown at the end of the customer's quote as cards: images and PDFs with a preview, which the customer can open in a viewer, and every file with Download. Remove takes one off the quote; the file stays in the library.
