Draft a quote with AI

Describe the job in a few sentences and AI writes a draft quote from your library's items and prices, with the client, an introduction, priced items, optional extras and a payment schedule, for you to check.

When you know what the job is but haven't written it up, describe it in plain words and let Quoterium draft the quote. The draft uses your library: items that match take their heading, wording, unit and price, and your standard text blocks (an introduction, an "About us") are used as they are.

Write the description

  1. Choose New quote, then Draft with AI.
  2. Under Description, write what the client wants and the parts of the work. Say who the client and contact are if you have them, give day rates, quantities or prices where you know them, mark anything optional, and mention recurring charges ("hosting at 40 a month") and how you want to be paid ("50% deposit, balance on completion").
  3. Choose Draft quote. Writing takes from a few seconds to a minute; keep the window open.

The draft opens straight away. Nothing is sent to the client.

What the draft contains

  • Client and contact: matched to an existing client with the same name, or a contact with the same email address or name; otherwise created. If the description names nobody, choose the client under Prepared for.
  • Items: a short introduction as a text item, then one price item per piece of work with a heading and a one- or two-sentence description. Items that match your library are linked to it (see Use library items in quotes) and priced from it unless the description gives a different price; items the library doesn't have get the price you gave, or 0 and a note to check. Recurring charges become subscription items; optional parts are added as optional items, not selected.
  • Tax: the rate you stated, else the library item's rate, else the rate most of your price list uses.
  • Payment schedule: milestones from the description when it gives one that adds up to 100%; otherwise your default schedule.
  • Currency: your default quote currency, or the client's when you started from the client's page. Library prices are converted at today's rate.

Terms and notes come from your Quote defaults unless the description gives them.

Check the draft

A notice at the top says the quote was drafted by AI and lists anything it had to assume: a part with no price, a tax rate you don't have, a payment schedule that didn't add up. Read every item: AI writes fluently, including things you didn't say. When you're happy, choose Done checking to hide the notice, then preview and send as usual.

Allowance and privacy

Drafts and imports from Word or PDF share one monthly allowance, shown in the dialog and set by your plan (see Plans and pricing); with your own OpenRouter key under Settings → Integrations there is no limit. Drafts that fail don't count. Your description and your library's price list are sent to the AI provider (OpenRouter) to write the draft; Quoterium keeps the description in the quote's history, not the provider.
